A Non-Surgical Solution for Uterine Fibroids

If you’re struggling with the pain, pressure, or heavy bleeding caused by uterine fibroids—but want to avoid surgery—Uterine Fibroid Embolization (UFE) offers a safe, effective, and uterus-preserving alternative.

At Image Guided Therapy, we perform UFE using advanced imaging and catheter-based techniques to shrink fibroids and alleviate symptoms, all without a single surgical incision.

What Is UFE?

UFE is a minimally invasive procedure that targets fibroids by cutting off their blood supply. During the procedure, a small catheter is placed into the uterine arteries through a pinhole-sized incision in the wrist or groin. Tiny particles are injected to block blood flow to the fibroids, causing them to shrink over time.

This method treats all fibroids at once—regardless of size or location—and leaves the uterus intact.

What to Expect After the Procedure

You may feel cramping, fatigue, or mild flu-like symptoms for a few days. Most patients return to work and normal life within 5–7 days. Symptom improvement often begins within the first cycle after treatment, with continued fibroid shrinkage over several months.
